He started by saying this has been a busy and productive year.
• We moved to a very integrated approach with the children of Belmont School and the refreshed Millenium Garden project.
• We attended meetings with solar farm developers and many meetings with Bloor homes the developers for the Somerby Hill development, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, and David Wilsons.
• We completed the development and planting of the community orchard at the Withambrook play area.
• We met several times with SKDC Councillors and Officers concerning local policing and issues with ASB.
• We completed new additions to the play area at Bridge End Grove partially funded by a UK SP fund.
• We obtained another Grant from the UK SP fund that allowed us to improve the path and drainage on the pathway up the Jubilee Mount.
• We worked with our SKDC councillors to save the Sunningdale green areas from being sold and are grateful that SKDC are taking these areas on.
• We worked with SKDC and other parish councils to help develop the SKDC design code for future developments.
• We secured another 5-year Asset of Community Value Status for the old Blessed Hugh More site.
• We ran a CPR training session for any members of the Parish who wanted to take part and also replaced one of the three defibrillators that we are responsible for.
• We have purchased a further 2 Speed Indicator Devices to be installed on Belton Lane, and on High Rd in Londonthorpe to complement the one installed on Harrowby Lane.
• We have attended several presentations on Local Government Reform.
• All this on top of the “routine” work of maintenance, support and care that goes on around the parish.
So, a huge thank you to all those involved in this over the year, and of course to our Council Clerk Pete Armstrong for supporting us with what must be done,
